Leading business people from the UK, Germany and Sweden join
   efforts to call upon politicians to embrace bold EU reform


    In a letter published in the UK’s Sunday Times and op-ed articles in Swedish financial daily Dagens 
    Industri and leading German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, leading business people and
    entrepreneurs across Northern Europe have joined forces to call for a more competitive and
    democratically accountable Europe.

    The unprecedented initiative marks the launch of a new pan-European drive urging entrepreneurs
    and business leaders to throw their weight behind a robust reform agenda ahead of next year’s
    crucial European elections.

    Between them the signatories have helped lead companies employing close to a million people and
    include Karl-Johan Persson, the CEO of Swedish retail giant H&M, Dr. h.c. August Oetker, Chairman
    of renowned German food producer, Dr. Oetker, Douglas Flint CBE, Group Chairman of HSBC
    Holdings, and Joanna Shields, Chief Executive of Tech City.
